Terms of Service

Effective date: 7 March 2026
Applies to import.madetoteach.com.au and related Made to Teach timetable import services.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Made to Teach timetable import site and any closely related upload, parsing, and draft timetable services made available through it.

By using this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service does

The import site allows a signed-in Made to Teach user to generate a one-time code in the mobile app, enter that code on this site, upload a calendar file, and create a timetable draft for review back in the app.

The service is intended to reduce manual timetable entry. It is not a student record system, school administration platform, or general-purpose file storage service.

2. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 18 years old, or otherwise authorised by your school or organisation, to use this service.

If you upload a calendar on behalf of a school, faculty, or another teacher, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

3. One-time codes and session security

Import codes are temporary and single-use. Once claimed in a browser, the code should not be considered reusable.

You are responsible for keeping your code private until it is entered on the import site. Anyone with access to an unused code may be able to claim that upload session.

4. Upload responsibilities

When using the import service, you agree that:

  • the file you upload is one you are entitled to access and use,
  • you will take reasonable steps to avoid uploading unnecessary student-identifying or sensitive information,
  • you will not upload malware, malicious files, or content that could damage the service,
  • you understand that the service may reject malformed, oversized, or unsupported files.

5. Student privacy and acceptable use

Made to Teach is designed to minimise student data in the MVP. You must not use the import site to create or upload a formal student record system, behaviour log, or pastoral tracking database.

If your calendar export includes sensitive information that is not necessary for timetable setup, you should remove it before upload or use a narrower export.

6. Draft review and confirmation

Uploading a file does not automatically update the live timetable in the app. Imported data becomes a draft first and must still be reviewed and confirmed by the user in Made to Teach.

You are responsible for checking the resulting classes, times, rooms, and other details before relying on them.

7. Service limitations

Calendar parsing is inherently imperfect because school systems export .ics files differently. We aim to support common recurring timetable formats, but we do not guarantee that every calendar export will parse perfectly.

The service may produce incomplete drafts, require manual cleanup, or fail on unsupported calendar structures.

8. Suspension, restriction, and expiry

We may suspend or restrict access to the import service if we reasonably believe there is:

  • misuse of one-time codes,
  • attempted abuse of the upload flow,
  • security risk, unlawful conduct, or repeated policy breaches.

Import sessions may also expire automatically if they are left unused for too long.

9. Intellectual property

You retain rights in your uploaded calendar data, subject to the limited rights we need to host, process, parse, and return a timetable draft to your Made to Teach account.

You must not upload content that infringes another person's copyright, confidentiality obligations, or other legal rights.

10. Australian Consumer Law and disclaimers

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Subject to those non-excludable rights, the import service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or perfect parsing outcomes.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the import service, including timetable mistakes that were not reviewed before confirmation in the app.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the extent permitted by law, including re-supplying the affected service where appropriate.

12. Changes to the service or terms

We may change, improve, pause, or discontinue parts of the import service as the product evolves. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
